   >So please, I'm so tired of hearing people bash sci/fi for not having
   >widescreen, or showing a TV icon bug, or having too many commercials. Its
   >the same crap over in the battlestar galactica group.

And you think this is going to stop anything? It's an unmoderated
discussion group, for unmoderated discussion. No one likes to be told
what they can and can't discuss. If you don't like negative comments
about the Sci-Fi Channel, then you should devote your time to their
bulletin boards, when negative comments are removed to maintain the
illusion that people still like their programming.

   >Its the way it is, its the way its been, and always will be.

What is? Do you mean SciFi Channel? If so, then no way, not by a
longshot. The channel hardly even SHOWS SciFi anymore.

   >If you really don't like it, maybe its time to petion sci/fi for a
   >commercial free pay channel.

And if you don't like that people don't like it, feel free to petition
   for a negativity-free pay newsgroup.

   >Sorry to rant, I'm just soo tired of all the whining about the sci/fi
   >channel.

One thing that annoys the crap out of me is when people label
criticism as whining. Why is it whining to point out where a
once-proud station has fallen apart? Why is it whining to point out
that half their programming wouldn't qualify as sci-fi by any stretch
of the imagination? Open your mind -- not everyone shares your
opinion of things, and if that's not okay with you, then the Usenet is
   never going to satisfy you.

   >Where would we be with out it? No star trek, No Battlestar, No
   >Farscape, no SG1, No Godzilla

That's silly reasoning -- if they weren't showing Star Trek, someone
else would -- it's the omst successful sci-fi franchise of all time
and has not been off the air since 1972. If they canceled SG1,
someone else would pick it up because it's become immensely popular.
If they weren't showing Farscape repeats, someone else would for the
same reason (though I have no idea why).

   > I know there not perfect, but find me a basic cable station that is.

Well, I can find you a thousand that don't pass John Edwards, Cape
Fear and Hercules off as sci-fi.
