   1924: CATHY DOWNS, who played Carol Forrest in "The Amazing Colossal   
   Man", is born in Port Jefferson, N.Y. She also starred in "My Darling   
   Clementine".   
      
   1929: HAJIME SATO, who directed "Terror Beneath the Sea" (in which he
