   1917: RAYMOND BURR, who played reporter Steve Martin in the U.S.   
   versions of "Godzilla: King of the Monsters" and "Godzilla 1985", is   
   born in New Westminster, B.C. Best known as TV’s "Perry Mason", he was   
   also the murderer in "Rear Window" and the star of TV’s "Ironside" and   
   was the original host of “Unsolved Mysteries”, and appeared in the   
   films "San Quentin", "Bride of the Gorilla", and "A Place in the   
   Sun".   
      
   1926: CHIEKO NAKAKITA, who was in "The Three Treasures" and played the   
   desparate mothers in "The Last War" and "Godzilla versus the Sea   
   Monster", is born. Married to producer Tomoyuki Tanaka, she also was   
   in "One Wonderful Sunday".   
      
   1928: ART FRANKEL, who played Cal in “The Ring”, is born in New York.   
      
   1945: AKIRA KUROSAWA, considered Japan's greatest filmmaker, marries   
   Yoko Yaguchi.
