   1912: KANETO SHINDO, who wrote "The Whale God" and "Deathquake", directed   
   "Kuroneko", and did both for "Onibaba", is born in Hiroshima. Married to   
   Nobuko Otawa, he also wrote "Hachi-ko".   
      
   1932: ISAO TOMITA, composer for "Black Lizard", "Mighty Jack", and The Last   
   Days of Planet Earth", is born in Tokyo. He also worked on "The Twilight   
   Samurai", "The Hidden Blade", and "Love and Honour".   
      
   1945: HARUKO WANIBUCHI, who played Ryoko Ema in "House" and Misuzu on "Neo   
   Ultra Q", is born in Tokyo. She was also in "Zipang", "The Stairway to the   
   Distant Past", and "One Missed Call 2".   
      
   1950: DOUGLAS FOWLEY, who played Jones in "Mighty Joe Young", marries Joy A.
