XPost: alt.movies.monster       From: fungusized@hotmail.com              You know, Rhindle was merely stating his opinion, why are you people jumping       all over him? Because this is the "sacred GMK directed by the divinity that       is Kaneko?"              I have the subtitled, uncut version of GMK, and you know what? I agree with       Rhindle. Almost anyway. I thought G2k was better, and GMK was definetly one       of the *worst* G movies I've ever seen.              Godzilla was evil, that's fine, I can accept that. But how could you even       hope to root for anybody when Godzilla is so totally impervious, that it       took a super blast from KG to even create a little hole in him? I thought it       would have been better had Baragon drawn blood, maybe those drill missiles       actually digging through a bit. And to top it all off, Ghidrah's "ultimate       powerup" caused his own death! How dumb is that? I will agree th at it       should have been G's own power that killed him, but it should have been       after a significantly more vicious fight than that.              And yes, this was also one of the worst looking Godzilla's ever to boot.       Waspra, I mean Mothra looked great, Baragon was spiffy, KG was plastic....       um... no, that's not a good thing. Although I'll be one of the first to say       "I'd rather have seen this the way Kaneko originally intended, with Varan       and Anguirus", I still think Kaneko could have done a LOT better than this       even with the restrictions Toho had on him.              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
