   1908: SEIZABURO KAWAZU is born. He played Takemitsu Nanjo a.k.a. "The   
   Invisible Man", Mr. Onishi in "The Secret of the Telegian", a general in   
   "Mothra", Minister of Commerce Tada in "Gorath", and the bearded gang leader   
   in "Dagora, the Space Monster",    
   and was in "A Geisha", "Yojimbo", "The Last War", "New Tale of Zatoichi", and   
   "Ultra Q". He died in 1983 at 74.    
      
   1912: KATSUMI TEZUKA, who shared monster suit duties as "Gojira" and "Varan   
   the Unbelievable", is born. He also played Anguirus in "Godzilla Raids Again",   
   a liquid person in "The H-Man", the neck of the larval "Mothra" and in   
   "Ghidrah, the Three-Headed    
   Monster", and a mushroom man in "Attack of the Mushroom People", and appeared   
   in human form in "Gojira" (as Hagiwara's editor), "Rodan", "The Three   
   Treasures", "Gorath", "Atragon" (as a Mu henchman), and "Godzilla vs. the   
   Thing".    
      
   1920: JAMES LANPHIER, who played Col. Harvey in "The Deadly Mantis", is born   
   in New York City.    
      
   1940: NORIYOSHI IKEYA, art director and chief designer on "Silver Mask" and   
   "Iron King", is born.    
      
   1941: BEN JOHNSON, who played Gregg in "Mighty Joe Young", marries Carol   
   Elaine Jones.   
      
   1947: MONA MARSHALL, the U.S. dubbing voice of a boy on "Kikaida: The   
   Animation" and Sukehime in "Onmyoji", is born in California.    
      
   1965: TETSUYA BESSHO, who played Indiana Jones wannabe Takuya Fujita in   
   "Godzilla vs. Mothra: The Battle for Earth" and Lt. Shunichi Maki a.k.a.   
   "Ultraman: The Next", is born in Shizuoka, Japan. He also played Ken Minami in   
   "Solar Crisis", Takatsugu    
   Yoshizumi in "Parasite Eve", and Ryosuke Shibuya in "Until the Break of Dawn",   
   as well as Masahiro Takashima in a TV movie about Tadao Takashima's battle   
   with depression, and lent his voice of "Art of Fighting".    
    JAIME GOMEZ, who appeared on the "Deadly Starfish" episode of "Ultraman: The   
   Ultimate Hero", is born.    
      
   1973: Episode 48 of "Warrior of Love Rainbowman", "A Bluff is the Only   
   Decision", debuts on Japanese TV.    
    JOHN FORD, executive producer and second unit director of "Mighty Joe Young",   
   dies from stomach cancer in Palm Desert, Calif.
