   Kita in "War of the Gargantuas", and the Japanese ambassador to Australia in

   1916: JAMES H. NICHOLSON, co-founder of American International Pictures with

   Earth", dies at 69 of cancer in Los Angeles.    
      
   1968: MAKIKO WATANABE, who played Yayoi Takano in "Isola", is born in Tokyo.    
      
   1969: BONG JOON-HO, co-writer and director of "The Host", is born in Daegu,
