   A bootleg is something that you have to get from outside the country because   
   it's not legitimately available inside the country. Considering how you have   
   to buy a region free DVD player, or modify your existing one in some   
   warranty-voiding way to watch it, not to mention the very strict and   
   specific import/export laws especially involving Hong Kong, then yes, it is   
   a bootleg.
