   1) Grindewald wasn't the rightful Master.  So, much like with   
   Voldemort, it wouldn't work for him.  Simply stealing it isn't   
   defeating the old Master.   
      
   2) DD talked him into surrender.  Unlike Voldemort, he took the second   
   chance offered to him.
