From: DON'Tvictordix@imapmail.orgSPAMME              I have finished a re-read of the HP books and so have a number of my       acquaintances. It is funny how we disagree on such basic things.              The single and most fundamental disagreement, and I see this from many       of the book before movie fandom, is that the movies should be viewed       as replacements for the books. Certainly not. They should be hip       companions.              Once you take this view, then the deviations from the text have less       impact. MOF, the only impact those deviations had for me was that it       would temporarily confuse; minds want simplicity and mine was preset       by the books.              Nonetheless, I haven't been well convincing; says one "I do note hate       either (HBP/OOTP) because they deviate from the text. I hate one and       am unimpressed with the other because of /HOW/ they deviate from the       text.              I simply do not understand that line of thinking. :(              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
