   I have no idea what the real statistics are. How many have read SS/PS   
   and seen most or all of the movies. read a few of the books, all the   
   books, etc expand the potential combinations.   
      
   What I do know is that the amount of conversation, discussion, review,   
   written and oral contemplation of the books support the understanding   
   and interpretation of the movies.   
      
   This allows the movies to be as intellectually complex as they are.
