Speaking of totems, maybe not the same thing, but I've read or heard that
when we see somethning, animal, insect, bird, etc when it comes to our
attention in some way, it has a message for us. Same if we align with
something, as a "totem". I was never sure what mine is. But, sometimes
something has come to my attention. One day last week a fawn walked up the
road, seemed lost, and finally went in the woods off the road. (I took a few
pictures with my zom lens first) Later, in the evening, a doe came up the
road, jumped the fence (on the opposite side of the road the fawn went in)
and was standing in a pasture across from my house. I went right down to the
fence and took pictures before she flipped her white tail and scampered off.
In 14 years living here I had only seen a deer once, it ran across the
road, jumped the fence and ran- there was a hunter after it (though too
close to houses to shoot). That was maybe 8-10 years ago.
Seeing a fawn and then a doe in the same day, and it stood there and let
me take it's picture, seemed like a true totem.
