   Tales, tellings, manuscripts and other forms of commo which are   
   structured around the alchemical processes of soul-spirit   
   transfiguration and use alchemical symbolism extensively (HP, Old/New   
   T, Chymical Wedding, Greek Mythologies, et al) are pretty nasty   
   stuffs. ;>) Yet children read and are forced to read, study and commit   
   to heart, many of these works.   
      
   The Magicians by Lev Grossman not for children? Too violent?
