   Harry hesitated. He knew what hung on his decision. There was hardly   
   any time left; now was the moment to decide: Horcruxes or Hallows?   
   ¡§Griphook,¡¨ Harry said. ¡§I¡¦ll speak to Griphook first.¡¨   
      
   As Harry spades Houself's Dobby¡¦s grave, he finally grasps what he has   
   to do: leave the Elder Wand and pursue the Horcruxes. Which, of   
   course, is exactly what Ron and Hermione have been trying to tell him   
   for months. ;)   
      
   Naturally, however, once he tells them he¡¦s made this decision ¡V and   
   thereby let Voldemort retrieve the Elder Wand ¡V Ron immediately begins   
   to question it, instead feeling certain that the Hallows were, in   
   fact, important enough to set the Horcruxes aside. The complete   
   reversal on both of their parts, more than anything, really just shows   
   the ambiguity of their situation: there is no black or white, right or   
   wrong decision to be made. Instead all they can do is put the pieces   
   together as best they can and go with Harry¡¦s gut feelings. Lucky for   
   Harry that (according to Lupin at least) his gut feelings are ¡§nearly   
   always right¡K.¡¨   
      
   Or...   
      
   If we look at The Chymical Wedding which IMVHO Ms. Rowling utilized to   
   skeletally arrange HP, one could have predicted that Harry would   
   choose the selfless path instead of the self-fulfilling one. The   
   destruction of the Elder Wand is the final act in Harry's putting   
   aside any thoughts of what he can gain (materially) for what he has   
   and is gaining (spiritually).
