   They just thought that Peter and MoRon were "friends." You know those Weasleys.   
   Alternatively, it shows how little they used the map except to look for   
   teachers nearby.   
   The "hand-wave" has always been that they simply NEVER looked for MoRon or   
   ever noted him on the map.   
   The thing is, JKR left plot holes, like Easter eggs, in almost every chapter...
