   The PURPOSE of Hogwarts is to educate young wizards and witches.  The PURPOSE   
   of the Hogwarts library would be to support the Hogwarts mission of educating   
   the Hogwarts students.  Therefore, the library would be organized in such a   
   way as to help the    
   students obtain the information they need to facilitate their education.    
   Therefore, there should be a card catalog to assist the library patrons in   
   finding the books they need.   
      
   So why couldn't Harry et al look up Nicholas Flamel in the card catalog in   
   Sorcerer's Stone, or look up underwater breathing in Goblet of Fire?   
      
   If the students can't find the information they need, the library's mission   
   fails, and the Chief Librarian should be fired.
