From: tsbrueni@dcn.davis.ca.us              PP 497-500 of hard back Half Blood Prince: Harry Potter and Dumbledore view       Horace Slughorn's memory of discussing Horcruxes with Tom Riddle/Lord       Voldemort. Tom asks Slughorn what a Horcrux is, and Slughorn tells him that a       Horcrux is an object in which        a wizard has concealed part of his soul, which he has broken off by committing       murder. Tom asks what would happen if one made MORE than one Horcrux,       something that no one had ever done! (Tom talks of splitting one's soul into 7       pieces). Slughorn reacts        with shock at that suggestion.              Dumbledore opined that Tom Riddle had wanted from Slughorn an opinion on what       would happen with a multiple Horcrux wizard. All I read was Slughorn       expressing shock at the notion. I did not see any opinion on whether multiple       Horcruxes were actually        feasible. How would Tom conclude from Slughorn's shock that dividing his soul       into 7 pieces was a workable idea?              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
