Sorcerer's Stone:   
      
   The Sorting Hat boasts that "There's noting hidden in your mind the Sorting   
   Hat can't see".  When Harry Potter puts on the Sorting Hat, it reads his mind   
   and pronounces that he could go far in Slytherin, but he thinks "Not   
   Slytherin", and the Hat reads    
   that thought.   
      
   Given that the Hat can read the mind of anyone it is on, I propose that it be   
   used to interrogate criminal suspects!
