   P 55 of paperback Sorcerer's Stone: Hagrid tells Harry Potter that his father   
   James was Head Boy (which would have happened during his 7th year).   
      
   PP 646-649 of hardback Order of the Phoenix: Harry accesses Snape's memory of   
   James washing out his mouth with soap and hoisting him upside down in the air.   
      
   P 532 of hardback Half-Blood Prince: Snape makes Harry clean up the discipline   
   files.  Harry sees numerous records of James committing petty misdeeds (often   
   in collaboration with Sirius Black), such as swelling Bertram Aubrey head to   
   twice normal size.     
   Remus Lupin and Peter Pettigrew were also present in the discipline files.   
      
   Shouldn't James Potter's magical misdeeds have disqualified him from   
   consideration for the role of Head Boy?
