   This explanation came at the very end, AFTER the attempt to steal the Stone   
   convinced Dumbledore and Flamel that the Stone had to be destroyed for the   
   safety of the world.  I had assumed that the Flamels' readiness to die was   
   caused by the near loss of    
   the Stone to Voldemort.  I had assume that before Voldemort almost took the   
   Stone, the Flamels had still intended to live indefinitely, so logically have   
   stored up a lot of Ellixir!
