   I preferred Joel, but not because he was first and Mike was a   
   replacement.  Joel's character was more intelligent and witty than Mike.   
   Mike's character was on the same level or slightly below the bots.  He   
   was often manipulated by them whereas Joel's character was more of a   
   leadership role.  It made his comedy a bit more intellectual, at least   
   so it seems to me.
