Thank you, one and all, for the kind comments. I suppose in the
interests of full disclosure I should admit I keep a beard on myself, but
for excellent reason; it makes me look good. At least relatively.

As for whether Arthur Claude Munyan is real or not ... he's posted
a bunch of things, generally not so amusing, to alt.fan.cecil-adams, and
probably other groups as well. He's either an earnest loon or a really
good parody. Biasing me towards thinking he's for real is first that he's
not gotten to space aliens and shaving before; if you're going to satirize
the kooky people on Usenet why save that stuff? More, most attempts to
write a parody of a good crazy rant -- I've tried it myself -- come off
strained somehow; I think it's because the satirizers are too smart to
really believe the premise of their spoof, and the insincerity shows. But
the thesis *is* bizarre, and the pacing of elements was almost perfect for
a MiSTing treatment, and it seemed to go out of its way to include easy
   targets to ridicule.

So I don't know. If I've been taken, fine, but it was fun.
