I don't know of one that predates Shakespeare, but look at "Fun and Fancy
Free" some time. In it, Edger Bergan tries to tell the story of "Mickey and
the Beanstalk" while Charlie McCarthy does an excellant Tom Servo
   impression.

Edger: Whose castle is this, what will they find behind the door, why is
   everything so big? (paraphrasing)

Charlie: Y'know, you could use a little rehearsal on this story.
