   When MST3K first came to the Sci-Fi channel, their new bosses asked them to   
   include a continuing story in the host segments. That is, there would be a   
   storyline with Mike, the bots, and the mads that would be continued from   
   week to week. Granted, the effect of a continuing story was lost when the   
   episodes were rebroadcast out of order. Any attempt at following the story   
   was spoiled when they lost the rights to rebroadcast certain films.   
      
   As everyone knows by now, MST3K leaves the Sci-Fi channel at the end of the   
   month. This extinguishes any hope of a reoadcast of the season 8 episodes   
   complete and in order. For those who wish to follow the host segment story,   
   could we interest Best Brains into releasing a DVD of the host segments for   
   season 8, sans the movies? That should avoid the usual copyright problems,   
   and let fans enjoy the host segment story in its entirety for the first time   
   since 1997.
