Working on it, as I bought a 50-year-old home recently. But I can
   only do that once.

The 1970's called, they'd like their advice back. Acceleration just
short of wide-open throttle is actually more efficient than gradual
acceleration, in modern cars. The problem that this advice was meant
to solve disappeared with the carbeurator. As for the tires, their
effect on fuel economy is real but often overstated.

Love to, because it's more time efficient. It is often, however, not
   practical.

No, but you sure intend to do it.

The problem with socialism is there's always
someone with less ability and more need.
