   Not bloody likely.  That works out to about 200 watts, or 25 watts per   
   device of standby draw.  That's unlikely.  VCRs draw about 5W,   
   televisions about 3W, amplifiers about 1/4 W.

   And I only have two TVs, no VCR, and 1 amplifier, so I could hardly   
   kill the power to so many.  Of course, if I had a VCR and shut the   
   power off to it, it wouldn't do timed recording so well, would it?
