One can always construct a particular situation where one form of
transportation is better than another. The problem is that everything
has become political and government all-powerful where by the winners of
the political battle will force their preference on to everyone else
regardless individual circumstances. What we need is market systems
where individual needs are met rather than having something forced upon
   people.

To those that do not understand:
If you think transit is the answer, start with rural nebraska and
explain how people would be better off with transit instead of private
   vehicles.
