   That's not entirely true; the loss of liquidity is still a burden,   
   and there's taxes to be paid as well. Still, it's likely cheaper than the   
   car you're parking in it, and the car depreciates.

   FWIW, I had no problem getting a $500/month spot (actually $475) with   
   no waiting, last March. It was 24x7 and I could have had it   
   indefinitely. IIRC, it was at 29th and 6th. There were some non 24x7   
   spaces nearby (you could park 24x7 but couldn't get to your car   
   outside lot hours); they were closer to $300/month.
