   Once again, MonkeyBoy demonstrates his live of Big Brother. Sadly, the facts   
   are that Red Light Cameras are not only ineffective, they also result in   
   rear end collisions that would not have happened had the guy in front not   
   stopped in the first second of a Yellow.   
      
   Any accident that would happen due to a Red Light runner would happen anyhow   
   because the vast majority of tickets that the camera issues come while ALL   
   DIRECTIONS are facing a red light. An accident that actually happens at a   
   red light comes long after the opposing direction has gotten a green.   
      
   And Red Light cameras are not even revenue generators for the municipalities   
   that use them because the administrative costs that the red light camera   
   companies charge is the bulk of the fine that is generated. Some cities have   
   said that red light camera programs actually end up COSTING them money, lots   
   of money. They could REMOVE the cameras and camp a team of three or four   
   cops at random times and catch as many red light violations as the camera   
   catches, and actually make money in the process. In my town, they park a   
   motorcycle cop on the median where he can see the Green light, and anybody   
   that is in the intersection from the cross street when the green appears has   
   run the Red, and he simply drops in behind them with lights and siren. The   
   city makes more money off the motorcycle cop than off the cameras.   
      
      
      
      
      
   Yup - take the cameras out of the schools and businesses and put them   
   on the highways.  That's where the killers are.  35,000 americans   
   murdered every year on our highways.  How many killed in schools?
