   The biggest reason, IMHO, that health care costs got out of hand is   
   because there is no $$$$$ connection between the HC Provider and the   
   HC receiver.  No one who goes to the doctor cares what it all costs   
   because "the insurance will pay for it".  Look at what it costs to   
   treat an animal at the vets compared to the equivalent procedure for a   
   human.  The amount of schooling is about the same for a vet as for an   
   MD.  The reason the vet is so much cheaper is because the person   
   GETTING the service is also the person PAYING for the service.
