       I think a diamond could be a better choice because it's so resistant to   
   overal dammage, and is one of the hardest materials known today.

       Good one.   
       Why not design the virus to turn the Zords against the Rangers, and use   
   them as your own?  That way, you don't have to worry about repairing them   
   after the Rangers are gone.
