|    Re: How to destroy the Power Rangers    |

From: cyberv@wowway.com              I sincerely doubt that any single monster, aside from the big bosses, could       stand a chance of defeating the Rangers utterly.              Note, even in cases such as Scatterbrain and Beamcaster, monsters that DID       get all the Rangers, there are allies left to turn things around. For       Beamcaster, it was Zordon, Alpha, Rocky, Adam, and Aisha. Scatterbrain? Bulk       and Skull.              No, if you are going to destroy the Rangers, you have to use a carefully       paid multi layered plan. And you cannot rely on one single monster.              The first step, in my mind, is neutralizing the support the Rangers have.       Their non fighting allies, the ones that do the work behind the scenes. Lure       the Rangers away with a massive attack, and send an expert strike force to       capture or eliminate their friends. This will leave the Rangers, generally,       shorthanded in regards to repairing damaged equipment, and occasionally, in       accessing the Zords. True, in many cases, you must determine the location of       the Ranger HQ first, but all you need for that is a tiny tracking bug that       can be placed by a simple grunt during a skirmish.              Once the support crew is gone (and, presumably, damage done to the base, if       not outright destruction), it's time to focus on the sixth Ranger, the most       powerful, but also, in general, the most vulnerable, due to their tendancy       to either go it alone, or just the tendancy for them to have some connection       to the villains, giving the big bad a greater insight. Just lure the Rangers       away withan attack far away, and once they're gone, have a second attack.       The sixth will respond. Alone, even the most powerful Ranger can fall to a       well executed attack. Push come to shove, release an EMP to fry their       morpher, if electronic, or a binding spell if the Morpher is mystical in       nature. Barring that, hostages are a nice way to get them to surrender.       Captured or dead sixth? Check.              That leaves the main five and their zords. And those Zords have got to go,       before they get it into their heads to not play fair anymore. Electronic       Zords can easily be stopped with a virus (but don't destroy them. You may       want them for later). Mystical Zords can be stopped with a barrier.              That means it's ground fighting time. You have several options at this       point. Massive overwhelming frontal assault, divide and conquer... I prefer       the manipuation of compassion. Take the surviving prisoners and force the       Rangers to choose between their Morphers and their friends' lives. Make sure       all five are in place, and have the grunts sweeping the area completely for       any tricks. Take their Morphers, and take them into custody. Then either       destroy the Morphers or put them where they cannot be accessed by anyone       except yourself. Trust no one. In the event that the Rangers are WILLING to       sacrifice the lives of their friends, use another EMP or binding spell, as       with the sixth.              Finally, their free will. Rangers have an annoying habit of coming back from       certain defeat. A mind controlling monster can easily enslave all six and       their friends to your will. If you have their allies, there is no one to       save them. The citizens are less than nothing unless they attack en masse.       The military, police, or private security forces are usually only useful in       getting grunts, so as you secure the city, make sure to use monsters and not       grunts. The grunts have served their purpose, and should be placed in       reserve.              What you do with the mind controlled Rangers from this point on, well, I       wouldn't wanna give George ideas, but they are putty in your grasp. Utterly       maleable, they will do whatever you wish.              THAT is how you destroy a Ranger team. Systematically, one piece at a time.       But do not rely on a single plan. Make sure to have many backups and       contingencies in place. Otherwise, the Rangers WILL find a way to come back       from seemingly certain defeat. If you have another plan already in motion,       they will be less likely to recover from the previous one in time.              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
