   The only relation between Scientology and War of the Worlds is Tom   
   Cruise. WotW was written in the late 19th century by British author   
   Herbert George (H.G.) Wells -- he of "The Time Machine" and "Island of   
   Dr Moreau" fame. :)   
      
   Battlefield Earth was written by L. Ron Hubbard, the founder of   
   Scientology and the mind behind "Dianetics".
