   So did I, around the same time. He came to Germany for a small ST   
   convention in 1984 -- only about 100 people, which gave all of us a   
   chance to talk. I remember him as being very nice and gracious; he even   
   ribbed me about my (at the time) pronounced British accent and asked   
   whether I was going to compete with him in the accents department. :)
