This PR season is going to be a first for me -- the first one I'll be
watching having seen the entire season of the Sentai upon which it is based.
I just hope it doesn't hinder my ability to enjoy PRMF for what it is and
judge it on its own merits and not on how it's like/unlike Magiranger.

Hey, I got DSL in the fall and I was looking forward to downloading stuff. I
   got curious.

I like the concept they chose to get to the magic. I like seasons that start
off with a pre-existing relationship within most, if not all, of the team.

   > It seems to be aimed at younger viewers, but without the sappiness of
   > "Wild Force" or that annoying talking hamster and valley girl
   > villains from "Ninja Storm." I can live with it.

   > didn't write it down-I think it's Firass Dirani, which sounds
   > like a middle eastern name (Iranian?).

It's roots are Arabic. Can't be certain which one.

   > Why does Xander (Green Ranger) speak in an Aussie/New Zealand accent
   > and not the others?

I think it's clearly to indicate that the character is indeed Aussie/Kiwi --
the first since Kat. How it got to be that could be one of two things -- 1)
by design or 2) the actor couldn't master un-accented speech for the
American audience and they got to a point where they just had to go with it.

It still goes back to AOL's dropping of newsgroups. I think those of us
still here can keep something going but it seemed like no one wanted to be
the first one to post something and start the thaw.

There's a decent starting point for the series. Let's see how they pull it
off -- knowing there are only 32 episodes to this season.
