   It's pretty much a complete change in tone   
      
   Udonna doesn't exist in Magiranger and MagiMother (White Mystic Ranger) is   
   apparently killed in the first episode. There are no analogues for Claire,   
   Toby or the Troblin whose name escapes me, Rootcore and the Rock Emporium   
   are also new.   
      
   The Rangers are all brothers and sisters, and have different personalities   
   to their Sentai counterparts. Xander and Nick are perhaps closest with   
   Tsubasa and Houka, Magiyellow and Magipink, being the most different as   
   Tsubasa is cynical and serious as opposed to Chip's goofiness and Houka is   
   fairly ditzy as opposed to Vida's aggresive nature.   
      
   Necrolai can split into two creepy-cute gothic vampire chicks Nai and Mare   
   (When introduced in Japanese they would be "Nai to Mare").   
      
   Mystic Force is spared Mandora Boy, a talking pot plant who is their mentor.   
      
   That's what seems to be the case so far.
