   Usagi and Rei face off? The nightmare of Dream Land   
      
   This is a great episode because it sets up the relationship between   
   Usagi and Rei. Already Rei is calling Usagi by her first name only (no   
   -chan or -san), a really, really huge deal in Japan. When Usagi is   
   threatened by the lion, she immediately jumps to Rei for protection   
   (and Rei ACCEPTS that role!). That was so funny, Usagi sitting on   
   Rei's shoulders grasping two tufts of Rei's hair. Later, Rei throws   
   herself in front of Usagi to protect Usagi from a snake.   
      
   On the surface, they are constantly arguing with each other, appearing   
   to be almost enemies and not friends at all. But if you look for the   
   subtle undercurrents, you can see that Rei cares for Usagi very much.
