   FWIW, I never saw it that way - in part because that wouldn't make sense   
   with Beryl getting angry with Jadeite for continually failing; you'll   
   note that the one scene where she commends him for success comes after   
   the one plot in which he *does* get away with energy before Sailor Moon   
   shows up (the fitness club). I always read it as that when the big ball   
   of energy Jadeite was holding disappears, wherever it actually went (and   
   the immediate recovery of the victims, which does happen at least some   
   of the time, seems to indicate that it went back to them), he certainly   
   doesn't have it anymore and hence can't deliver it to Beryl for   
   Metallia.
