This time around, she       had no problem standing up to the MOTD. Also, props to Usagi's dad for       taking charge as well.              Here is another example of the writers not looking ahead to see how       the changes they make result in ridiculous contradictions. When Serena       called Darien by name and begged him to remember her, he said that he       never heard of the name Darien even though everyone, including he       himself, refer to him as Prince Darien.              The dub also managed to mangle the legendary lovers story.              Serena's mom initially got it mostly right, that is, a maiden came       down from the heavens (the dub called her a water sprite and left out       the heavenly part). A village youth fell in love with the maiden.       However, a village girl, who adored that youth, turned into a monster       in a fit of jealousy and wreaked havoc on the village. Other then       changing the maiden from heavenly to a water sprite, the dub got the       story right...              Except for one thing...              By the end of Serena's mom's narrative, she refer to the monster of       the lake as the water sprite and they called the monster that for the       rest of the episode.              The dub did manage to preserve that touching moment between Usagi and       her mom as they spoke about when Usagi would have a boyfriend one day.              BTW, Mamoru had a perfect opportunity to snatch Sailor Moon's wand       away from her at the end of this episode. Is he expecting her to       simply hand it over during one of these encounters?              --       Phoenix       www.phoenixanime.com              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
