   Those all sound like valid reasons to me. That bit with Sailor Moon   
   wanting to kill the youma rather then heal it really, really disturbed   
   me. It goes against every single principal for which she stands. As   
   this show progresses, no matter what the provocation, no matter what   
   the sacrifice, Sailor Moon would always attempt redemption first and   
   foremost. As far as I can remember, this is the one and only   
   exception. I wished they could have found a different way to allow   
   Venus to show her selflessness rather then use Sailor Moon as the   
   foil.   
      
   BTW, it is in this episode that it is finally confirmed that the   
   disguise pen gives one the abilities as well as the appearance of the   
   selected costume.
