Here's the transcription of both lines:
Ami: Sou ieba, kappuru no aida de, kare no o-bentou tsukutte ageru no,
hayatte iru mitai ne.
Mako: hnn? mou, zuibun to tsukutte inai naa...dare ka no tame
ni...o-bentou nante....
In Ami's first line, "kare" is a gender-specific pronoun ("he"; can
also be translated as "boyfriend" in some contexts like this one).
Makoto's line doesn't use any gender-specific words, just "dare ka"
(someone).
I don't think there's anything wrong with ADV's translations.
