A good episode, but it’s a bit disappointing that each girl couldn’t get
her own for their new attacks.

What was supposed to be a group shopping trip goes awry, leaving Makoto
and Minako sitting around waiting on Usagi. While there, they end up
getting into an argument over their past crushes.

It’s Makoto who gets defensive first. So what’s she so defensive about?
Minako says something to the effect of, “You’re not looking for real
love.” And Makoto gets mad for two reasons, I think. One, Minako’s
right. She’s the Senshi of Love. She recognizes things. Find a guy,
lock onto some point of resemblance to sempai. Chase him, get rejected,
sigh and find the next one. That’s Makoto’s pattern. It’s really all
very harmless. We never see her in any real danger of catching one.
The other reason is that it’s starting to change. What’s been sneaking
up on her since 62 isn’t harmless at all. She isn’t sure what it means,
where it’s coming from, what to do about it, or what’s going to happen
if anyone finds out, so when Minako pushes, she starts getting
   defensive, leading to the fight.

Petz has her own issues with love, seemingly beyond the ‘I’m one of the
villains’ bit. The order of the sisters is Petz, Calaveras, Berthier,
Koan. (I know, there are six to eight ways of spelling each of them,
I’ll just go with what I see in the ADV translation, for sanity’s sake)
