   What I thought was more unusual about this is that it's standard   
   practice in Japan for elementary school students to walk home in   
   groups (sometimes with a teacher, but not always -- the students in   
   5th and 6th grade are expected to look after the younger ones). Even   
   if it's raining, that's why they are required to bring raincoats and   
   umbrellas to school every day. I worked at 7 elementary schools when   
   I lived in Japan and the students were not allowed to stay after   
   school unless there was a specific purpose.

   I guess even if they watched all the 65 to-be-dubbed episodes before   
   doing their "translations" (which is unlikely), they wouldn't see who   
   the mysterious figure was supposed to be.
