And because I'm bored, my take on this (which I'm sure is blatantly
obvious and doesn't need to be discussed, but hey, it's nice to see some
   subtlety in the show):

Mamoru has told Usagi that he didn't like weak girls. Usagi has since
been trying to make herself stronger. I would think she would associate
this 'weakness' with her childish tendencies, which explains why she
sees herself as a child in the dreams, unable to get to him because he
walks away from her 'weak self'. However, when he kisses her outside of
the dream, she is able to 'catch' him. It is at this point that she
once again because a teenager, thus showing growth. At that moment, she
probably felt mature and 'strong' enough to be with him.

Too bad he had to ruin that. But I was very happy to see her deduce
(and not with stupid means this time) that clearly there had to be a
reason for Mamoru's coldness--why else would he try to pretend a
taken-girl was 'with' him? At least with her thinking that way, I don't
get quite as mad. It's when she says things like 'I'll love him no
matter howly coldly he treats me' that I get upset, given how much that
   sounds like someone justifying abuse.

   Okay, I'll stop rambling now.
