   I gotta agree that I don't like Rei's behavior towards Usagi or   
   Yuuichirou.  However, for the most part, she treats everyone else pretty   
   well (if not a bit bossily...remember her pinching Ami in the first   
   season?).  This sticks out to me.  To me, it says that the people she   
   cares about the most, she's most willing to act like 'herself'.  She   
   probably is a bit of a brash young woman, but she tempers that around   
   everyone except the people that mean the most to her, because she feels   
   more comfortable with them.  Or something like that.   
      
   Regardless, she should treat them better. :p   
      
   SK and I spent a little while discussing why Rei would react so strongly   
   to what happened to Koan.  After all, she *is* the enemy.  Aside from   
   the writers just wanting Koan to have such an episode (and Rei's powers   
   matches with hers), my thought is that Rei understands.  She lost her   
   mother, her father is never around, she technically 'lost' Mamoru, the   
   girls in her first episode talked badly about her...she knows what it's   
   like to be left behind.  And she's learned to value herself.  It wasn't   
   her fault that these people left her.  She has slowly learned to value   
   herself, and doesn't want to see anyone else not learning to do the   
   same.  That's at least my take on it, without extra thought, the   
   reaction just doesn't make much sense to me.
