Of course you don't actually see Ami or Mako make or give a       >promise ring, but notice that when Ami calls the senshi, Mako already       >knows it's the promise ring shop -- presumably this is because she had       >Ami's promise ring on and it started sucking her energy, but she's       >strong enough to rip it off.              Per the premise of the promise ring, if it breaks and falls off on its       own, your wish will come true. So maybe it just broke off and now Mako       will get her wish. ^_^              >"Udering" means "arm/wrist ring".              The dub called them "love bracelets" instead of "promise rings" which       actually makes a little more sense to me. But this meant they had to       cut the promise ring/pro-wrestling joke. However, they continued the       promising trend of using the original Japanese words, i.e. Esmeraude       says "droido" instead of "droid" and Mercury continues to say "Shine       Aqua Illusion" (although the other girls still used the old dub attack       names). And finally, during his inspiring speech at the end, TM called       the girls Sailor Soldiers instead of scouts. It made for a much       stronger declamation.              That droid was a pretty good instructor, patiently giving Usagi       directions and dropping back to simpler designs when it was clear that       Usagi couldn't master the complex ones.              It was interesting that the droid started with a one-ring attack and       worked her way up to a five-ring attack. She also gave advice on which       patterns to use for given situations and desired outcomes.              >And so Usagi and Mamoru are back together (awww, how cute) and that       >dumb subplot is finally over (yay).              And now the three necessary conditions have been met for us to watch       the R movie; Chibiusa is still together with Usagi, the senshi are in       the present and Usagi and Mamoru are together.              --       Phoenix       www.phoenixanime.com              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
