She scampers away       almost immediately.              The Senshi meet King Endymion, at least in holographic form, and he       gives some answers as to how the future has come to this state.              According to him, they are in the thirtieth century. The world of the       Senshi’s time suffered some great calamity and was frozen for a long       time, until Serenity and the Crystal restored it. Since then, the world       was unified under Serenity’s rule and Crystal Tokyo was its prosperous       center.              A war broke out between the Senshi and evil forces. It’s not really       clear, but I got the feeling that they were humans, though possibly       consorting with ye powers of darknesse. Most were defeated and       cleansed, but a few who refused were exiled into space. They happen to       find Nemesis, the ‘tenth planet’, and there are transformed, gaining       supernatural powers to become the Black Moon.              Some time later, Nemesis launched an attack, devastating Crystal Tokyo.        Endymion was badly injured. The reaction of the Inner Senshi was all       that prevented total disaster. Together, they sealed the Queen in       crystal before she could be killed, and created a barrier around the       palace. After this, Chibi-Usa decided to go to the past and find the       Senshi of legend, Sailor Moon, to help her mother.              We also find out that King Endymion is responsible for the evil visions       haunting Mamoru and Usagi.              *gasp* So that’s the story…              We don’t find out much about the disaster that causes the world to freeze.              I still don’t see how Chibi-Usa doesn’t recognize the Senshi on first       sight as the four watching over the Palace. These are her mother’s       closest friends, the ones who are right there when all the trouble       starts, how does she not recognize them? Even if there is some       difference due to aging, it wouldn’t be *that* substantial. A blonde       with light blue eyes, a bad tempered dark haired one, and a brunette and       blue haired one seemingly joined at the hip, how do you miss that?              Mamoru just doesn’t strike me as that bright. His future self’s great       plan to bring them closer together is really, really dumb. And him       promising to protect Chibi-Usa with his life was almost laughable. If       he dies, how’s she going to be born at all?              Dimande isn’t too sharp either, leaving the Crystal there. Even if it’s       theoretically no threat to him, you’d think he’d at least get rid of it,       to be sure.              A hang glider? What the… Never mind. All things considered, it wasn’t       too bad a choice for quiet aerial infiltration. But it looked so silly…       maybe I’m still having flashbacks to Tuxedo Kamen on a sailboard.              As badly as Ando mistreats poor Ami-chan, I think I like the way Dimande       was drawn even less. He really did look wierd.              All this and we haven’t even started getting into the fun mindbenders       associated with time travel. ^_^              SK              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
