   And not to mention Ami's reaction. Every time one of the girls implied   
   that Mako may have switched teams, Ami cries out "That's not it!"   
   until she is shouting it at the end. She is the only one who is   
   vehemently objecting to this relationship.   
      
   Once again, there are many subtle Ami-Mako moments. When Mako is first   
   captured, it is Ami who frees her. Then there was Ami's reaction and   
   denial of Mako falling for Haruka. Ami is the one who calls her on the   
   communicator (until she is knocked out of the picture by Usagi and the   
   rest of the girls attempting to convince Mako to stay straight). And   
   finally at the end, it is only Ami, with her nose in a book, who looks   
   up at just the right moment to notice Mako in a shop trying on a   
   scarf.

   This was a sweet Makoto episode. She feels self-conscious and very   
   unfeminine about being so tall and strong. Then she sees Haruka, also   
   a tall, strong woman, and yet extremely confident in her identity.   
   This has a huge impact on Mako and so she looks to Haruka as a role   
   model for her own goals. The other girls mistake this for a physical   
   attraction, but that was never it at all.   
      
   The dub careened all over the place attempting to avoid any and all   
   emotion or references to any sort of attraction one way or the other   
   (but especially the other). This had the bizarre effect of characters   
   inexplicitly blushing while engaged in what appeared to be a   
   completely banal conversation.
