That's what I was thinking. Gez, 5 minutes of self-debate on whether
to run (oh yeah, she can't, I forgot about the barrier) or fire off a
long distance attack that does not involve any particular risk to
herself at all. What in the world was the big deal?

So, I rationalized it this way: U&N want those talismans and the only
way they know how to get them is via the daimon attacks. Perhaps
Uranus figured that killing Kaolinite would leave them with no way to
continue their mission. Thus it was a serious sacrifice in her mind.

BTW, I had completely forgotten about Venus's entrance, so I was
flabbergasted all over again when she showed up and was laughing out
loud at the senshi's attempt to pass her off as the real Sailor Moon.
   ^_^

Once again the dub, in particular the authoring of the DVD itself, has
failed me. In the original, we get a great, thoughtful moment as U&N
drive off with Usagi, Ai No Senshi blasting away in the background. On
the DVD dub track, it was played at such a low level that I could
barely hear it. Rather then raise and lower the volume level as the
characters spoke, they just left it at the same low level throughout.
Not only that, they had actually translated this song into English
when it was first broadcast (for better or worse), but on the DVD they
went back to the Japanese version even on the English track. If this
was a gesture to the anti-dub fans, I fail to see the benefit since
the original Japanese track is only one short click of the remote
   away.

    Ah, here it is!

I actually enjoyed the translated song, so if anyone is interested in
hearing the original English version, here you go:
