   I agree.

   It does make these last few episodes seem less like filler and more   
   central to the main plot. It feels like the pace is moving much, much   
   faster.

   Maybe to add more of a human element to the Tomoe household? Until the   
   end, she was attempting to be something like a girlfriend/wife to the   
   Professor and seemed to honestly love him. And in the end, her   
   presence also showed what an inhuman monster he had become.   
      
   According to Sailor Moon Uncensored, with the end of the Mimette   
   episodes, so ends the 'good' translations. From what I can see of this   
   episode, they are right so far.
